Louis Vuitton Tote Bag

This Louis Vuitton Tote Bag from the early 1980's is part of a collection that was donated by the Princess of Wales in 1996. The bag is accompanied with a signed tag "Diana" attached to the handle.

Diana donated this personal item along with a list of others to an event that took place in the latter part of 1996 raising funds for a children's charity.  Diana mentions in a letter how very low in 1996 she was and that her butler, Paul, was her rock during this time and states how touched she was by the support.  She also states "I am sending you a few personal items that may be useful for your charity although sometimes I wonder why...." It appears she feels unsure why her personal items would be of any value to anyone else.

Visit The Princess Diana Museum to learn more about this item and the collection within the gallery.
